Cleveland, Ohio – The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has unveiled its first Savannah Bananas bobblehead.
This limited-edition bobblehead features Split, the minor league baseball team’s mascot standing on a banana-shaped base. He wears his signature sunglasses with his arms outstretched while wearing a yellow T-shirt with a cape.
The Savannah Bananas – who look like the Harlem Globetrotters – play their brand of creative and entertaining “Banana Ball,” touring parks across the country. They recently played two dates at Canal Park in Akron.
The team plays by a variety of fun rules, including one that says the batter is out when a fan catches a foul ball.
“Split” was selected in the “Name the Mascot” competition in 2016. The team said it was the most popular name submitted.
The cost is $30 with $8 postage. The bobblehead is expected to ship in October, the Milwaukee-based museum said.
